LEADERSHIP TEAM

Charles Wills

Managing Director

Charles co-founded Wills Bros in 1972 and has since led the way for the company as it diversified from its beginnings in plant hire to a major civil engineering company operating throughout Ireland and the UK. Charles is a respected construction sector leader, recognised as such by previously being appointed in the prestigious position of president of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA).

Charles is at the forefront of all our contracts, instilling over 45 years of his construction knowledge and experience to our construction teams. He promotes our core self-performance approach, has a passion for the projects we undertake, takes pride in the quality works we complete, and importantly he values our people and the good client relationships we make in doing so.

James Wills

Director & Company Secretary

James Wills co-founded Wills Bros in 1972 and is the Company Secretary, responsible for all company commercial activities. He provides experience and oversight to the financial management teams in respect of all company contracts.

James, as EHS Director, provides governance for the implementation and development of our IMS system, involved in all Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality developments.

James also is a construction plant expert and provides guidance to our plant department in relation to the management of our extensive plant fleet and all associated strategic plant procurement decisions. James initiated the company’s evolution towards GPS guided equipment in 2003 and has continually reinvested in this decision ever since. James believes that this investment assists in our progression towards excellence with a “right first time – every time’ quality management approach.

Tim Wills

Purchasing Manager

Tim has a background in civil engineering and business. Post 3rd Level Education, he commenced work within our head office accounts department where he was fundamental to the development of our software management systems and supply chain management processes.

In 2017, he naturally advanced to the position of Purchasing Manager where he now leads our centralised procurement departments.

Tim maintains and promotes partnering relationships with our Suppliers, Subcontractors and is an advocate for our integrated type joint venture relationships.

Tim ensures that our supply chain is continuously evaluated and that all selected partners are capable of working with us towards our target of delivering best value, high quality projects, on time, safely for our clients.

Trevor Wills

Legal Council

Trevor is a Construction Lawyer and Business Consultant having gained over 12 years' experience in a major Irish law firm and an international construction company before re-joining the family business.

In 2017, he was appointed to the position of Wills Bros Legal Counsel where he now provides oversight and guidance in relation to all legal and contractual matters. Trevor also takes an active involvement in business development and is at the core of our strategic business decisions.

Trevor values further learning and since his return to Wills Bros, he encouraged the introduction of our ‘Professional Development & Upskilling Programme’ which promotes the undertaking of Charterships, Post Grad Diplomas and relevant MSc’s by our management teams.

Gary Curran

Commercial Director UK

Gary joined Wills Bros in 2012 and has nearly 25 years’ experience in the commercial management of large construction projects across an array of contract forms and conditions. He holds a BSc in Quantity Surveying, Postgrad Diploma in Project Management and a MSc in Construction Law. Gary is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Since 2012, Gary has underpinned our UK contract successes, by overseeing teams, business development, identifying new market opportunities, determining the optimal pricing to balance profit with customer/client satisfaction, and directing all UK contracts. By 2014 Gary’s work was acknowledged by his appointed as Commercial Director for the UK.

Gary’s core focus is to continue the expansion of Wills Bros within the UK market whilst fostering collaboration, building strong relationships, and always adding value for our clients.

Aidan McCaul

Contracts Director

Aidan is a respected Chartered Engineer within the civil engineering industry. Aidan first joined Wills Bros in 1991 and worked as a Site Engineer, progressing to Site Agent, Contracts Manager before subsequently being appointed Contracts Director in 2008.

He has contractually led and technically guided the majority of our foremost private and public projects and has played a significant role in the expansion of the company since that time. Aidan is a pragmatic thinker who embraces innovation. He importantly brings leadership experience spanning over 25 years across all sectors of the construction industry.

Aidan is objective, and solutions focused and a steady hand at the helm of our decision making, ensuring that what’s “best for project” is always the first consideration.

Jonathan Wills

Operations Director

Jonathan has a strong background in construction management, with nearly 20 years’ experience in large scale civil engineering projects ranging from Industrial development to large Motorway Design & Build contracts.

Having initially worked managing our company plant logistics, provided him with a unique understanding of our plant capabilities, before moving into more hands-on construction management roles.

In 2010 Jonathan advanced Wills Bros transition into the UK construction market. By 2014 Jonathan was appointed Operations Director. Jonathan has become the business development driving force for our UK operations success, establishing a multidisciplinary team office in Motherwell and providing strong leadership to become recognised within the UK construction sector. His hands-on support of our site teams on our UK projects has subsequently been acknowledged by achieving multiple excellence awards.
